Klopp will leave Liverpool at the end of this season. He will play his last game in the final week of the Premier League on Sunday (May 19) against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Klopp has coached Liverpool since 2015 and has won trophies from the Premier League to the Champions League. One of the most important players of his time was Mohamed Salah.
Salah arrived in 2017 and became Klopp’s mainstay. The player from Egypt was the backbone of the Reds’ success in the manager’s era.
The 31-year-old scored 211 of 348 goals with Liverpool. He helped win the Premier League Cup, Champions League, FA Cup, English League Cup, European Super Cup, Community Shield and Club World Cup.
Mohamed Salah admitted Jurgen Klopp believed in him from the start. He told how the former Borussia Dortmund and Mainz coach explained his plans at Liverpool, which sparked his interest in a move.
“I think what went through my mind when we first called was that he made it clear to me that he wanted me to come here,” Salah told Sky Sports.
“And basically he explained that he was building a new team at the club and Sadio [Mane] and Bobby [Firmino] were there. He wanted me to play on the team.”
“My football,” he said, “I will improve your football and give you the freedom to do whatever you want. And then I thought: OK, I’ll come and you’ll see the rest.”
“We were here together for seven or eight years, so there were too many moments. But I think the win in the Premier League in that game, when Chelsea beat Man City, and also the win in the Champions League is something that stuck with me because there were too many emotions in the game ?” he remembers.
Aside from football, Salah is also impressed with Klopp as a person. The manager is considered the best story friend who you can always rely on.
“I always see this situation as a human being. He definitely improved my skills as a player and I helped him a lot as a manager, we helped each other a lot and gave everything for the club to win trophies, everyone can see that,” Salah continued.
